MVCTC FFA Members attend State Greenhand Conference
On Saturday September 12th, 17 first year,
or Greenhand, FFA members attended the State Greenhand Conference held annually
at Versailles High School in Versailles, OH.
The theme of the conference was “First Down and Life
to Go”. Students participated in a Career Development Round Table session where
they rotated around and learned about the various Career Development Events FFA
has to offer. The conference featured sessions with Sydney Snider, National FFA
Officer Candidate, Matthew Klopfenstein, Ohio State FFA President, Lesley
Shanahan, Vice President at Large, Ryan Goddard, Vice President at Large,
Michaela Kramer, Ohio State FFA Secretary, Sarah Landis, Vice President at
Large, Robby Thiel, Ohio State FFA Sentinel, Mary Buehler, Ohio State FFA Vice
President and Aaron Klohn, Ohio State FFA Reporter. Afternoon sessions the
students attended include the topics of FFA/Leadership, Teamwork, Goal Setting,
SAE Exploration and Communication.
Students in attendance included; Pat Belt, Justin
Brown, Maya Stewart, Emily Peck, Skylar LaMagna, Emily Hornberger, Crystal
Adkins, Keaton Lucous, Keyra Christian, Avory Creech, Ashley Pitcock, Destanie
Brown, Joel Cress, Austin Menker, Hali Storch, Jamie Rasor, and Webb Kress.
They had a fun-filled day learning about the opportunities FFA has to offer
them!
The
National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career
success training through agricultural education to 610,240 student members who
belong to one of 7,665 local FFA chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and
the Virgin Islands.
